Greetings from the Lab Director
Lee, Dong Hun
Welcome to the SKKU Traumatic Stress Center.
Established within Sungkyunkwan University's Department of Education, our institute is composed of Department of Education Counseling Education master's and doctoral students. We are dedicated to advancing the field of counseling psychology through rigorous academic study and practical application. Since 2013, we have been at the forefront of the Counselling Psychology Education Program, nurturing the next generation of competent counseling psychologists.
Currently, master's and doctoral students from Sungkyunkwan University are engaged in various projects, including the SSK project titled "Prevention and intervention of adolescent self-inflicted suicide: Establishing a Korean biopsychosocial-pathway model for developing AI-based ecological moment intervention evaluation and intervention application", as well as another SSK project focusing on "Psychological stress and coping with coronavirus infection (COVID-19): A Comparative Study of Korea and Japan". Additionally, we are conducted a study for the Ministry of Health and Welfare on " Development of screening tools for high suicide risk group and evaluation tools of severity of suicide risk, and validation of their effectiveness”, the Ministry of Justice on the "Development of Family Recovery Support Program for Released Prisoners“, and Ministry of National Security on the "Development of Psychological Support Modelling for Disaster and Psychological Traumatic Experiences“.
Following admission, students undergo training in practical counseling practices essential for fulfilling the requirements set by both the Korean Counselling Psychology Association and the Korean Counselling Association.
If you're eager to develop into a skilled counseling professional while simultaneously enhancing your academic research skills and practical counseling abilities, we encourage you to apply to Sungkyunkwan University's counseling education major. Numerous scholarships are also accessible to support your academic journey.
Thank you.
